It’s officially fall time here in Texas, which doesn’t mean bundling up into sweaters, but it does mean fun fall activities! It you want a one stop shop for all things fall, then the Robinson Family Farm is the place to go. This spot is jam packed with things to do for people of all ages. You could spend the entire day here and still feel like you didn’t do everything you wanted to!
The land the Robinson Family Farm sits on has been in their family since the 30’s and 40’s, but they decided to start their pumpkin patch in 2014. It’s been six years since they first opened and it’s clear to see that it has been a huge success. As large and fun as the site is, they say that they are still not done adding to it! Every year their patch has gotten better and better.
Owned and operated by a married couple, Helen and Ryan Robinson, this place is truly what it means to be a family run business. With five sons and plenty of family around the area to help pitch in, this place runs smoothly and successfully. Their vision for the pumpkin patch was to keep things simple, like back in the day. No electronics, just the great outdoors and all of the fun that comes with it, and that’s exactly what their farm models.
With a General Store that sells old fashioned, made in America toy classics like jacks, it’s impossible to be reminded of anything but the simplicity of the “good ole days.” Their general store also sells locally made honeys and jellies with freshness that you can taste, and blue bell ice cream that’s a crowd favorite.
Aside from the delicious food and beverage offerings, the activities are the main draw here at the farm. They have everything! Along with the pumpkin patch which seems to have an endless amount of pumpkins, there is the classic hayride to bring you into the mother nature you can’t find in the city. They have a bounce pad in the shape of a jack-o-lantern, a playground that mimics every farm kids dream, and newly this year, a corn pit that looks like a miniature silo. On top of all of this, they also have archery and a corn maze, but then activities you won’t find anywhere else like duck racing and corn cannons.
I can’t say enough about how great this place is. It’s truly a beautifully run and kept business that my family and I will keep coming back to year after year. I’m sure next season they will already have more new attractions for their visitors!
If you’d like to give this place a visit, go ahead and check out their website for any information you might need. It’s definitely worth carving out some time for this place, it will make you fall in love!
