As you know, the fourth of July is just around the corner… but will there even be fireworks? If you’re like me, you must be wondering: what’s going down in Austin on 4th of July this year?
Hi, I’m Maggie Luce and welcome to another episode of The Perfect Balance and I’m not sure about you but the 4th of July feels like a full-force swing of summer but with COVID, this year might be looking a little different. In this episode, I’m going to give you a few social distancing suggestions in the Austin area and beyond!
1. Outdoor activities Head over to a park and bring your furry friends, frisbees, and loved ones! Or you can lace up your hiking boots and visit a local trail. You can rent a canoe or kayak and catch some rays while working those muscles!
2. Swimming Maybe you want to go for a swim and people watch! If so, head over to The Blue Hole, a scenic lagoon close to the San Gabriel River. You can also try Deep Eddy Pool, Texas’ oldest pool that offers a traditional public pool experience. Next, we have Hamilton Pool, geological wonder! Lastly, there is Barton Springs Pool which features clear water from underground springs and is ALWAYS 68 degrees year-around. Don’t forget to check and see if any of these pools are taking reservations due to COVID regulations.
I know that this fourth of July will be very different from previous years but I hope this video helped give you a few ideas on how to show your national pride while also being safe! Wishing you a happy and safe fourth of July! I’m Maggie Luce and thanks for tuning into another episode of The Perfect Balance.
